Have your say on Basketball

The Nigeria Basketball Association according to news reports has dropped the idea of hiring a foreign coach because it could not afford the wages demanded by the coaches. At leasst the association was honest enough to admitt it can not afford the jombo pay packets of foriegn coaches. What is the way forward? test

I think it's a good idea to use our local coaches because the foreign coaches have not given desired results and they leave out the best of our local players from the team selections. This is not good for our local leagues back home becasue what would be the use of runing a league at home when the local players are not always given a chance to feature in the senior teams? We have good coaches like sani ahmed of kano pillars, ayo bakare of comets, emmanuel okolo of union bank and a handfull of others who can do our country roud if given the chance.

Nigerian Basketball is decades away from where it should be..reasons?we need people who truly love and have played the game (not pick up games)..to be at the helm of affairs. We have talent like Godwin Owinje and Masai Ujiri developing other leagues when the game is rotting here and its because the NBBF doesnt have its act right, period. The Nigerian teams have the most talent on the continent and yet cant even be properly kitted or even sponsored for a paltry 12 game season!!!GET YOUR ACT RIGHT...its disgraceful.

The NBBF is non existent and has truly failed the Nigerian basketball community...it has no vision,no direction and no leadership and should be scrapped.I think the NBBF is the reason why the Nigerian game has not grown..there is no technical know how, commitment ,love of the game or the fact that young men and women stand to benefit in so many ways from being involved in basketball...Nigeria will continue to be an empty space in the basket ball world (as a nation) until this changes. The talent will continue to find a way to make it to the real world with or without the NBBF.How can any responsible corporate body invest in the NBBF as it stands, riddled with corruption and lack of vision...the truth must be told...NBBF is a total failure.

Does anyone know when Ehimen Orupke will report to play basketball in the United States at Wichita State University?
