Mufutau Ibrahim blow for Berger

These are not the best of times for Julius Berger Football Club of Abeokuta as the club has again lost an influential player to injury so early in the 2004 Globacom league season, Nigeriasports.com can exclusively reveal.

The bridge boys currently occupies a comfortable mid-table position on the league with five outstanding matches to play but all seems to be threatened at the moment with centre- forward Mufutau Ibrahim adding to the injury list of the bridge boys.

Nigeriasports.com gathered that the lanky striker is presently down with a knee injury and he is not expected back in action until the commencement of the second round of matches.

It would be recalled that Nigeriasports.com had reported that the Fatai Amoo led Julius Berger team had earlier lost striker Titus Idoko to a serious leg injury that required surgery about three weeks back on the away trip to Gombe United in week 10 of the league.

Meanwhile, Ishola Saibu’s much anticipated return to the pitch will have to wait a little longer as the week 15 league encounter against Enyimba has been postponed because of the Aba millionaires CAF champions league 2nd leg tie this weekend.

The Super Eagles fringe player has been down with Fever for the past two weeks and he only resumed training on Monday.

Ishola Shaibu is one of the invited home based players to represent Nigeria at this year 4-Nation LG Cup scheduled to begin on April 28th in Lagos Nigeria.
