This much talked about African Hockey club championship will no longer hold as scheduled, as it has been postponed.
The annual championship which was earlier billed to hold from April 24- May 2 in Abuja was postponed because of the need to allow maximum focus on the national sports festival and largely due to the non-availability of funds.
The local organising committee for the competition headed by the president of the Nigerian Hockey Federation, the executive governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba Ibrahim has complained all along of lack of funds in seeing their plans through, leading to the shift in date.
A new date will be announced after the national sports festival.
