Oladuni Oyekale starts from scratch

Chief Coach of Gombe United and former junior international, Oladuni Oyekale will have a Herculean task fashioning Gombe United into a formidable side in the league this year.

The club received a meager N6million from the State Government as take off grant, and the ambitions of the club can just be imagined.

Last season, the players were owed back log of salaries leading to their leaving in droves for other clubs at the end of last season.

Newly promoted NPA of Lagos, snatched five will Wikki Tourists grabbed three.

Perhaps, long serving player, Alhaji KWarainga, the oldest player in the team will be the shinning light for Gombe.

Coach Oyekale will be in the limelight for the first time in his young coaching career after previously serving as assistant in Elkanemi.

Governor approves N68m for Gombe United

Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Goje has approved the sum of N68.4 million naira to the club to run its affairs for the 2004 football season, and amount, N13.6m naira less than what was given last season.

The players have also received 20% of their sign on fees, for the old ones and 15% for the new ones.
