As Nigerians looks forward to the Super Eagles semi final clash against hosts Tunisia in Rades on Wednesday, the players are brimming with confidence ahead of the game billed for the newly renovated Stade 7 Novembre.
Speaking with Nigeriasports.com, the players down plays the heightened fears of the home crowd and the intimidating atmosphere of the stadium but instead approaching the game with great caution.
Home support
Aware of the loud noise that will surround the game and importance of a game of such magnitude to the host, team skipper Austin Okocha says Eagles will fly amidst the storms and thunders of the home support.
“I think we are aware of the home support and distraction that will characterise the game on Wednesday but we are not going to allow that affect our focus and goal of the competition” he explained.
“This is the semi final game which means a lot to both teams and only a team without good spirit will play against the crowd” he added.
According to John Utaka, who ended Cameroon's hopes of a third successive African Cup of Nations title, with the back breaking second goal in the semi finals, Nigeria will overrun their opponents.
“We know what to expect and as true professionals that we are, we have
our eyes on the trophy and the host cannot stop us”
Goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama is aware of the flair and attacking ability of the host but vow to approach the game with the same mindset and attitude implored in previous games.
“I cannot make predictions but I am certain God will see us through on Wednesday” he assures.
Aghahowa boost in the air
Nigeriasports.com can authoritatively reveal that striker Julius Aghahowa is eighty percent fit for the game if comments by team Physiotherapist,Dayo Ogunkunle is anything to by.
According to Ogunkunle, the player is fast recovering and should be a moral boost for the team ahead of Wednesday’s important clash with the Carthage Eagles.
“We are on our way to the hospital to wrap up the last check on his njury
and all things being equal he should be back on Wednesday”

The players have put behind them the victory over Cameroon according to the Coach Christian Chukwu.
“The game against Cameroon is gone and we have an important one on Wednesday and my boys are cautious and in a good stead”
