MTN Lagos Street Soccer Kicks-Off Today

The much awaited MTN Lagos Street Soccer Champions will Kick-O ff Today (Saturday) in 10 Centres across the State.

The Championship which winner will go home with the sum of N2m and a playing tour of Brazil will start in 10 centres out of the 20 centres earmarked for the championship.

According to the Chairman of the Venues and Facilities committee of the Championship, Bolaji Yusuf the championship will kick-off in these centres because the centres have more teams than other centres.

He gave the names of the centres as Alimosho Local Government with Community Primary School, Egba-Idimu, Ajeromi Local Government with Macarana Playing ground as the venue, Somolu Local government where C.M.S Primary School, Bariga will serves the venue,Elegbata Playground will host teams from Lagos Island Local government.

Others are Lagos Mainland Local government where Oko-Baba mini Stadium will serve as the centre for the area, Surulere Local government will also kick-off tomorrow with Padington Playground as the venue, Ikorodu Local government with Chief Gadamosi Playground, Ita-Elewa as the venue will also starts Saturday.

So also is Ojo and Ikeja Local government where Awori College, Ojo will serves as the venue.

He disclosed that the other centres will kick-off next week, while urging Team’s Managers to visit the championship office within the Teslim Balogun Stadium,Surulere for their team’s fixtures.

Speaking further, he stated that the teams have been grouped into groups of four each with the winners of the group and the best losers moving into the next round of the championship.

However the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Championship, Alhaji Tajudeen Adedejo have charged the participating teams to be of good character, saying they should support and embrace the government initiative for the betterment of their lives.
