Onikan Stadium will Saturday come alive when oldies of Stationary Stores football club converge to honour late founder of the club Israel Adebajo in a novelty match against former members of the Nigeria senior national team, Green Eagles.
According to Tilewa Adebajo one of the sons of the late founder of one of Nigeria’s most successful club, that the aim of the novelty match is to mark the 39th memorial of his late father who passed-on in 1969 when he (Tilewa) was just four years old.
Tilewa also informed our correspondent that the is also to bring together former members of Stationary Stores football club and of the Nigeria senior national team who rule the airwave in the 1970s and 1980s.
The match comes up at 3.00pm local time at the popular Onikan Stadium in Lagos while the present Stationary Stores football club campaigning in the Amateur league will take on Eko United at 4.00pm.
A book launch cataloguing the life and time of Late Adebajo will be unveiled at the match venue.
Some of the former member of the old Stores fc expected to feature in the novelty match includes Dan Ajibode, Haruna Ilerika, Godwin Obiyan, Taiwo Oloyede, Collins Ebitimi (Barb-wire) among others.
