The national U-17 women’s team, Flamingoes will fly to Cameroon on Friday evening ahead of their 2008 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier billed for Sunday.
Coach Felix Ibe-Ukwu will lead a team of 18 players and seven technical officials, who are scheduled to depart the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos aboard a Virgin Nigeria Airways flight at 3pm.
Players that are expected to make the trip includes, Favour Okeke, Chioma Gilbert, Eucharia Okeafor, Soo Adeknagh, Maria Nwoko, Chinwendu Chukwunonye, Mercy Amanze, Ugochi Oparanozie, Ngozi Okobi, Prudent Ugoh, Ifeyinwa Ibeh, Chioma Nwankwo, Rosemary Njoku, Jennifer Osawaru, Gloria Ofoegbu, Blessing Edolo, Eno Umoh and Ngozi Anyanwu.
Other technical officials are Augustine Iyamu (Assistant Coach), Nneka Moughalu (Team Doctor), Onwuka Uchenna (Physiotherapist), Mary Obodoukwu (Team Secretary), Henrietta Ukaegbu (Coordinator) and Medina Onoja (Interpreter).
The team will take on their Cameroon’s U-17 counterpart in Yaounde on Sunday and then host Ghana’s U-17 side next Friday in Abuja, before hosting Cameroon and then playing away to Ghana in the round robin series.
