Total consult terrors Para-soccer team have emerged the champion of the maiden edition Easter Para-soccer league tagged " Easter Challenge" after defeating Lead United by 4-3 in the final match.
The 3-day Easter Para-soccer Challenge which came to a close Easter Monday at the Sports Hall of the Mobolaji Bank Anthony Sports Complex, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos amidst pump and pageantry saw the Lead United team emerged second position after defeating A.Y United and the New African shrine (NAS) Warriors to book a place in the final, NAS Warriors on the other hand fought hard to place third after defeating the Lagos State Sports Council team in the third place match.
Speaking during the closing ceremony Monday LSSC Chairman, Yomi Dada, commended the organizers and teams that took part in the 3-day challenge for their unflinching support and confidence in the game of parasoccer.
"On behalf of the governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, (SAN), I want to express the state profound gratitude for your commitment to Corporate social responsibility programmes and collaboration towards the development of Para-soccer in Lagos State in particular and Nigeria in general.
"We shall continue to give you the necessary support in ensuring that your support and commitment to developing Para-soccer in Nigeria is achieved," the LSSC boss concluded.
In his remarks Managing Director of Total Consult Limited, organizers of the 3-day Easter league, Theo Lawson commended individuals and corporate bodies present for their support and contributions in making the event a huge success.
He further commended the originator of Para-soccer, Lawan Didi for his courage and doggedness for the game.
Lawson however called for more people to come on board and support Para-soccer in the country, adding that the Para-soccer project is beyond an individual or an organisation.
"This project is meant to be a corporate concerted collaboration that can truly get to the pinnacle and that is why I want to use this medium to plead that this initiative should be rallied round so that we can join the people that are presently supporting the game." he said
Cash prizes, medals and corporate items from Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell milk were given to all the players that participated in the 3-day event.
