Nigeria pass DR Congo 69-56

Seating atop their respective groups in the 20th edition of the Africa Nations Championship for Women, Angola and Mali Sunday handed down a comprehensive defeats of their opponents, Cape Verde and hapless Cote d'Ivoire.

Angola group-B leader posted a 25 points margin victory of 66-41 points win over Cape Verde in Thies, Mali on the other hand show no mercy against Cote d'Ivoire with a 40 points margin of 74-34 points in a one-sided game in Dakar.

Both teams are the last teams standing that are yet to taste the bitter pill of defeat, the game between Senegal and Mozambique the two other teams that have not lost a game in the championship was on as at the time of this report.

Tunisia kept the hope alive with a 59-41 points win over Madagascar for the North African first win in the championship thus moving up to the fourth spot in group-A and look good to clinch a quarter finals ticket while Nigeria raced back to live beating DR Congo by 69-56 points to occupy the second spot in group-B behind Angola.

Monday will be observed as rest day for all the teams as six matches are slated for Tuesday three in each venue while the group matches would be rounded off Wednesday.
