Milan closes down on Adriano

AC Milan Vice President, Adriano Galliani says the European Championclaims that AC Milan won't be making an approach for troubled Inter forward Adriano.

The Brazilian striker could be on his way out of the nerazzurri squad, having failed to make the line-up for the season opener against Udinese.

What's more, Inter coach Roberto Mancini claims that the player could be set to leave the club before the transfer window closes on Friday evening.

But Galliani, has ruled out an approach for the man they call L'Imperatore.

"Signing Adriano is just a dream because I think nowadays a great champion can’t move between Milan and Inter," he said.

"We have 10 Brazilians in our squad and they are all friends with Adriano, but let’s leave him and Inter in peace just as we ask to be left when there is speculation surounding our players."

Adriano was offered a chance to return to Parma on loan, but refused, allegedly due to the Ducali's failure to qualify for European football last season.

Since then, he's been linked with clubs big and small across Europe, including several in the English Premier League, but has yet to arrange an escape from the San Siro.

It may be that he opts to remain with the narazzurri and fight his way back into the side.

While he's heavily out of favour at the moment, should Inter fail to rack up a win next week having already lost the Supercoppa and drawn against Udinese in Serie-A he could suddenly find himself back in contention.
