Innocent Anyanwu wins Benelux Title.

BOXING: Nigeria shines again on the Horizon of Internatinal sports as Innocent Anyanwu a Holland Based professional Boxer captures the European three nation (Holland, Belgium and Luxemburg) Benelux Title.

Innocent Anyanwu who hails from Ikwereazu, Imo State with an extesnive amatuer boxing background in Holland, returned to Nigeria from Holland in 2004 to offer his skills for the development of boxing in Imo state. Innocent partnered with his colleague and Friend Mr Enobong Umohette who later became the Nigerian 2005 national super heavy champion to sponsor the biggest private sector initiated amatuer boxing event in Imo State in 2004, which was last held in 1980.

 He  partcipated in the 2004 National sports festival emerging a finalist; participated in the pre-2004 olympic National Boxing Training Camp and in 2005 clinched the D-Rovans, champion of Champions invitational tournament in Ibadan.
  
  Innocent was later to return to Holland in 2005 to commence a professional career remaining undefeated with a sterling record of 9 wins- no loss- 1 draw with knock outs and on May 1st, 2007, he challenged for and capture the European three-nation (HOLLAND, BELGIUM AND LUXEMBURG) title christened the super feather weight BENELUX tilte.
  
  On Monday 6th May, 2007, Innocent is a guest of the Nigerian Ambassador to Belgium, where he presented the Prestigious 3 Nation title which he won in the super feather weight category.  Innocent Anyanwu thanked His Excellency for the support given to him at short notice and praised the Administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, for its support for Nigerian athletes overseas, which he said have continued to achieve greater sporting goals internationally for the good of our country.
  
  Innocent is defendiing his title on June 9th and looks forward to pursuing a World Title as he progresses in his career.
