IVY, and BRILLA make Nigeria proud in Paris

IVY ACHIR of Kaduna Golf Club 1921 and PETER BRILLA of IBB Golf and Country Club Abuja both finished runners up and did Nigeria proud at the just concluded Peugeot International Pro-Am Golf Championship which too place in Paris, the capital city of France.

Nigeria finished second behind Germany who came first out of the 25
countries that participated in the championship held between August 21 -
26 in Paris.
 
Commenting on the tournament shortly after arrival from France, Ivy
Achir, the female representative to the championship said contributions
of PAN to the development of Golf is the best thing that has ever
happened to the noble game in Nigeria.  Adding that, "PAN has no rival
in Golf championship".
 
Ivy, who arrived Nigeria on board KLM First Class Flight, further said,
"PAN has single handedly sponsored the qualifying rounds in all the
zones of the country before the national finals that took place at the
IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
 
Narrating their experience at the championship, Achir said the
championship lived up to their expectations. "The organization was
superb, very well executed, the hotel was perfect and we had fun.
 
The female golfer who represents Nigeria for the second time in three
years at the Peugeot International championship further said that at the
end of the first day, Nigeria was on the fourth position.
 
"The second day we were fifth, then on the third day, we worked very
hard and we were first. That informed our finishing second overall after
the average was calculated", she concluded.
 
Speaking further, she said PAN has been able to touch her life so much
by sponsoring her to the Peugeot International Golf championship in
France two times, adding that she gained a lot of exposure and learnt
new techniques about golf.  "Due to PAN, I've met a lot of people and
have been able to learn a lot about the game.  In Paris, they gave me a
big book containing all the St. Andrew's golf rules.  They have really
tried".
 
"Right now, I've been able to meet people from over 25 countries, we
exchanged gifts, we went to boat cruises, viewing the beautiful scenery
that is synonymous with France, we call each other and exchange mails,
it was a lovely experience".
 
The third Peugeot International Pro-Am championship attracted almost 250
players from Africa, South America and Europe.
