Players and officials of the victorious Enyimba team may have to wait until the end of next month for their mouth watering reward from Governor Orji Uzor Kalu.
An Enyimba source told www.nigeriasports.com that the postponement from an earlier date of January the thirteen to the end of next month may not be unconnected with the nations cup in Tunisia.
But some players and officials are not too comfortable with the postponement; stressing that the Enyimba largesse has nothing to do with the nations cup.
"I dont think this man wants to give us anything and that is simply why he has postponed the reception twice," an Enyimba player told www.nigeriasports.com
"I still remember what he did to the team that won Enyimba's first league title three years ago. We thought he would keep his promise this time since the eyes of Africa are on him."
Players shun camp
Meanwhile, Enyimba?s Charity Cup game against FA Cup wimmers, Lobi Stars of Makurdi on Saturday may be prosecuted by mostly newly signed on players following the absence of key personnel who played for the club last season.
Only four old players, Ndidi Anumunu, goalkeeper Abdul Isa, Emeka Nwana and Victor Ezeji could be spotted at the Clubs camp on Wednesday, just three days to the Charity Cup match.
About six of the players, including Dele Aiyenugba and Chike Oguguo have teamed up with Insurance of Benin while Emma Isah is back to Makurdi to join Lobi stars
The team is expected to go into camping in Otta shortly after the Charity Cup game.
