Players and officials of Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt will start the new season on a delightful note as the State Government gets set to release the largesse promised by the State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili.
Sports Commissioner Allwell Onyesoh told www.nigeriasports.com that the money cannot be released at a better time other than now.
“Its normal that the players may have lost hope after a more than two months delay, but a promise is a promise and they will surely get their money,”
Onyesoh also disclosed that members of the former Sharks board, and members of the supporters club will also have every cause to simile as their part of the largesse will be released much sooner than expected.
After the FA Cup last year where Sharks ended as runners up, the Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili, in a reception for the team promised each player the sum of one million naira, the Coaching crew, five million naira, while the board and supporters club got ten million naira and five million naira respectively.
