Guinean international player, Ousmane Bangoura's sojourn to far-away China in search of the proverbial "Golden Fleece" has ended in a disaster. The Guinean mid-fielder, who plays for Shenyang Ginde FC in the Chinese Super League has gone blind following a kick in the face during a match against another Chinese side, reported Beijin News.
According to the report, the 26 year-old African was kicked in the face in a clash with Quindao Zhangneng of Lu Gang earlier in the month. As a result of the kick, the West African suffered a rapture in the eye, which was unsuccessfully operated in Shengyang.
The player was then transfered according to the report, to a Beijin hospital, where doctors were able to save Bangoura's eyes after a 3-hour operation...but not his vision.
