Nigeria and Union Bank basketball club forward Ejike Ugboaja could not hide his joy of being the latest Nigerian to be drafted by an NBA team.
The 21 year-old siad in an exclussive chat earlier today (Thursday) that his joy knows no bound when the announcement was made about his being drafted as the 55 over-all draft at the second pick.
Ugboaja who was Nigeria leading player at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia came to limelight four years ago when he played a vital role in Nigeria successful defence of the Fiba Africa Under-18 championship in Cairo, Egypt and complimented his performance with a brilliant outing for Nigeria at the Fiba World Championship in Greece a year later.
No doubt the drafting of Ugboaja by the Cleveland Cavaliers has gone to show that indeed Nigeria basketball has come of age and is prepared to command attention from far and wide.
