Juju scare in Insurance of Benin Fc

Belief in the effecacy of juju, to improve the fortunes of the club in both their domestic and continental engagements by the management of Insurance FC of Benin, is tearing the club apart as some players have continued to protest the practice by club's management nigeriasports.com reports.

Reports reaching nigeriasports.com revealed that, the club is neck deep in all sorts of daibolical practices which have pitched some players against the management.  Indications were rife last night that players of the club were poised to protest management decision to contniuosly subject them to visits by a popular herbalist in Benin in order to improve performances and possibly, clinch the premier league title.

However, the players are fed up of being subjected week in and week out to the rigours of observing an all-night session with the juju man before each league encounter. The belief in the juju man is taken so serious by the management of the club to the extent that, the players are banned from all other forms of prayers or worship.

A player of the club, who craved annonimosity told nigeriasports.com; "If you observe, we no longer pray before each game, as we used to do in the past, because of management orders."  He stated that most of the players are not comfortable with the situation as it is" contrary to our religious beliefs and we are ready to confront management over it," he fumed.

Nigeriasports.com's phone call to the club's chairman, Chief I.G. Ekhosuehi did not yield results. With a dwindling fortune despite government huge investment in the club over the years  Insurance Fc are not able to repeat a, re-enactment of those days of yore, when they won the then prestigeous FA Cup in 1972, '78 and '80.

The team also lifted the League in 1979 before bagging continental titles in 1993 and '94 through the sub-regional WAFU Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup. It has not been bed of roses for the team since entrance into the on-going millennium six years ago.
