Athens 2004: NFA Board stands by Musa Abdulahi

The stage may be set for another round of battle between the board of the Nigerian football Association and the Federal Ministry of Sports over the recent sack of under twenty three football Coach, Musa Abdulahi.

www.nigeriasports.com investigations reveal that the board members are unhappy over what they perceive to be the despotic attitude of the current Minister of Sports, Musa Mohammed following his intention to sack Coach Musa Abdullahi.

An NFA board member told www.nigeriasports.com that the board have vowed to resist the move by the Minister stating that Musa Abdullahi was employed by the NFA and not the Ministry.

"After all the minister was not the one who employed Musa Abdulahi so what gives him the impression that he has any right to sack the Olympic team Coach?” The board member said.

He argued that the Kogi born tactician can only be shown the way out by his employers, the NFA and not the Sports minister.

The man favoured to succeed Abdullahi, Khadiri Ikhana has already declared that he would reject the job of the Chief Coach of the Under Twenty Three team should he be made an offer.
