Ministry embarks on blackmail

Following the unrepentant stance of the Galadima-led elected board of NFA not to let go the mandate of the 2005 Kano elections, the sports ministry, nigeriasports.com has been informed, has decided to force the board to quit through blackmail.

This we were reliably informed would be in the shape of either asking the members of the board to either quit quietly, Galadima should resign or face the wrath of the government.

These conditions however, have not yielded any positive result as none of the Galadima faction has accepted to quit; save Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, who was the chief executive during the last tenure of the Galadima then led board.

We were told from Abuja that, Ogunjobi's resignation was as a result of pressure being mounted on by ministry officials, who told him point blank that, if he did not resign, he as the last chief executive of the NFA board, would be "dealt with" following the indictment from the report of the House of Representatives' Committee on Sports.

"Ogunjobi chickened out because he is scared of the indictments on the report.  He was assured by the Sports Ministry official that, he would not have any case to answer if he quit the board of the Galadima-led board."

Our sources further informed us that, "it was most likely that more members of the Galadima-led NFA would soon have a re-think and tow Ogunjobi's line of resignation; since the Dr. Amos Adamu-led ministry soldiers have resolved not to go back on their word of evoking the poweres of the land to see Galadima-FIFA approved board off the board."
