Players of Dolphin Football Club Of Port Harcourt have threaten to boycott this weekend home game against Kwara United of Ilorin, if the management club do not meet their demands, for the payment of their oustanding 2005 league season sign- fees and match bonuses owed to them.
Some of the players who spoke with nigeriasports.com stressed that they have waited long enough on the club management to at least pay 50 percent out of balance of 80 percent owed to them last year, stating that apart from sign on fees that the club was also owning them more than five match winning bonuses till date.
"We have sacrificed alot for this club, but enough is enough, we have families to cater for, and all we are asking is part of the last season sign-on fees and not full. "Some of us are owed between 70- 80 percent of our sign on fees. This is not fair it is our entitlement, I don't think we need to plead before they know that we need it,"
The players who have refused to train for some days now, declared in a rather angry tone that there is no way they would not honor this weekend match against Kadiri boys if the management fail to meet up with their demands. The commissioner for youth and sports Rivers state, Hon. Allwell Onyeoso could not be reached for his reaction as he was said to out of town .
