Ogun draws Delta in last four

Group-A leader Ogun State female basketball team will have its hands full against a more determined Delta ladies in the first semi-finals of the basketball event on Saturday at the Alake Sports Centre, Abeokuta.

The Otunba Gbenga Daniels girls topped group-A after winning all five matches played for a semi-final duel against 2004 gold medal winner Delta who placed second behind Lagos in group-B.

The Ogun versus Delta have described as a tough one by basketball pundits who predicted a hard game for the host. Lagos who is hoping to reclaim the gold it lost to Delta in 2004 will confront Bauchi State in the second semi-finals.

In the male semi-finals pairing, former Sports Festival champion, Lagos State will battle Delta State for a final ticket.

Lagos topped its group going into the semi-finals will try to put behind it the last group-A lose to hard fighting Bayelsa State is determined to go pass the Delta boys coached by former international, Lateef Erinfolami.

The boys second semi-finals will be between 2004 Gold medal winner, Federal Capital Territory, FCT who will take to the court against  enterprising Bayelsan boys who is playing one of the best basketball in the 15th National Sports Festival.
