Chicken-hearts States find level

Barely a few days into the 2006 National Sports Festival holding in Ogun State, Nigeria, some of the States are already swallowing their earlier boast of coming first at the end of the fiesta.

Rather than face the stiff opposition from other ambitious contenders for the glorious positions, these group of State have decided to face reality and go for selected events. Some of the officials who spoke with nigeriasports.com in Abeokuta confessed that, the heat could turn out to be too hot to face afterall.

Such States as Akwon Ibom, Lagos and a few others have decided to go for the areas where they feel stronger and could give any opposing State a good hot chase for their guts. Akwon Ibom for instance have their strength in weight lifting and judo while Lagos, (Eko for show) have their power spread across all the events perhaps, except swimming.
