We are to better our 2004 rating, Elder Adeyeye

“We are here to surprise our critics and prove bookmakers wrong because we are set to better our 2004 fourth place rating”, declares Elder Mike Adeyeye, Ondo State Sports Council Chairman.

Asked if he is not bothered about the threat poised by host Ogun and Lagos States.

Elder Adeyeye, says neither Ogun nor Lagos will stop the ambition of oil rich Ondo State as the state has done everything humanly possible to claim the third spot on the overall medal table when the festival draw toa close on April 20.

The Ondo sports council chief said the state is banking on its swimmers and other athletes to do the magic of the third placing.

“Yes, we are aware of the threat poised by both Ogun and Lagos State but with results coming in from the event that have already started I don’t think Ogun have what it takes to upstage us and Lagos we shall capitalized on their lack of seriousness to go pass them”.
