Precious Dede wants victory first

For Falcons of Nigeria goalkeeping revelation at the last World Cup, Precious Dede, getting a starting shirt when the Falcons take on the Black Queens of Ghana will not be as important as winning the match.

Precious told www.nigeriasports.com that she is well aware of the "competition that should exist especially with the All Africa Games gold medal winning goalkeeper, Ogechi Onyinanaya and returnee, Ann Chiejine in the team.

"Yes, I have seen the list but I am not going to camp to engage any one in a fight for shirts. What will I gain if I play the match and we get kocked out by Ghana?"

"Whether I play or not is not the issue, and it does not matter to me as long as we win and progress to the next round it will be okay by me. After all I want to play in the Olympics too"

She allayed fears that her knee would slow her down when the camp resumes on the 5th of January.

"But you saw me at the Super Six; did I look like someone with a bad knee? I'm fit and will be in camp to join others as we work to win a berth at the Olympics."

Precious Dede shone like a million stars at the last Women World Cup but will have to work hard to keep her place in the starting line-up  with the return of Ann Chiejine and also Ogechi Onyinaya who was outstanding at the All Africa Games Gold medal winning side.
