Omidiran, Fanny Amun tear Falconets apart

A personality clash between former board member of the Nigeria Football Association, Alhaja Ayo Omidiran and acting Secretary General of the Association, Fanny Amun has ensured that two different sets of Faconets players are training ahead of the April 2 world cup qualifying match against Kenya in Ijebu Ode.

Omidiran last week announce that she had been appointed by the sports Minister, Samaila Sambawa as the Team Manager of the Falconets which did not go down well with Fanny Amun who claimed she forged a letter of appointment on the FA official paper.

“Omidiran has to apologise for impersonation or face prosecution,” Amun told a news conference lagos, but Omidiran insists the Acting Secretary General is just a spoil sport.

“All I can say is that I was called upon by the Minister to do a job for Nigerian female football which I am doing but Amun is kicking against it because he never had a program for the team and he wants mine to fail.”

Nigeriasports.com can reveal that as it stands now, coaches Rowlandson Odey and Emma Tetteh refused to take orders from Omidiran because “they are in Fanny Amun’s camp” and because of that Omidiran opened another camp in Ijebu Ode, venue of the qualifying match and sought the services of the duo of Felix Ibe and Santana Oluwole to coach the team.

As it stands now, Nigeria may just present two different teams for the April 2 match, if the minister, Sambawa does not return from Melbourne on time to sort it out.

“I can just ask Nigerians and fans of the team to relax because the minister would have returned before then and all this will be sorted out.”

“I know this is not good for Nigerian football but that is the way we have seen ourselves. I could not have waited for the team to fail and that is why I did what I did.” Omidiran explained.
