Keshi drifts nearer lost crown

Indications reaching nigeriasports.com offices show that, "all being equal, Coach Stephen Keshi, who had been on the cliff-hanger with his Togolese employers, might regain his crown."

Our corresspondent in the West African sub-region, informed that, plans have reached advanced stages to recall the Nigerian football coach, to lead the Togolese soccer Hawks to Germany for the FIFA 2006 World Cup showcase...it is only in religious literatures that, one was told of how a person led his people to a promised land, which afterall, he the leader, did not live to see...of course the same literature, told us all of the offence of the leader.

"But in the case of Keshi, he has not committed any unpardonable offence... God forgives so, why can't the authorities in Togo forgive him, Keshi if he has in any way, offended them?  The offence we were told, is  because he did not win any match at the last Nations Cup in Egypt.

. But as far as we the fans and players are concerned, qualifying Togo for the FIFA World Cup, is much, more than getting anywhere at the Nations Cup.  It is historic that, whenever global football is talked about, Togo will be mentioned," Togo football followers argued in defence of the former Super Eagles captain and Assistant Coach.

Consequent on pressures from both the people of Togo and some top members of the Hawks, the football authorities of the West African nation, are reported to be yielding ground in favour of the coach.  We gathered that, Keshi, whose contract expires this month, may be offered an extention, which could stretch beyond the GERMANY 2006 global football feast later this year.
