Ezeji rues injury worries

Dolphins of Port Harcourt striker, Victor Ezeji has told nigeriasports.com that 2005 is a year he does not want to remember because of the injuries that ensured he had very little to play in the run of his club, Dolphins Football club in both the league, FA cup and CAF Confederation Cup.

“I must be realistic and admit that 2005 was the worst yet in my career. I can count the number of games I played and it has not happened to me ever since I started playing football.”

“I got injured four times last year but I’m happy all of that is gone now.”

Ezeji, who was invited to the Super Eagles’ Nation’s Cup camp in Faro, said his dream of going to Europe from Faro was scuttled by the fact that he could not kick a ball in the camp.

“Faro is the closest I got to Europe last year, but it was too bad I was injured all through and no club would sign an injured player in the midseason transfer window.”

“I’m hoping to be a lot better now to work against the end of the European season in may when I’ll be looking at playing my trade outside Nigeria.”

With the Plaster of Paris taken off his leg last week, Ezeji told Nigeriasports.com that he has been given an all clear by the Doctors to resume training in three weeks.

“I cant wait to get back to the pitch because that’s what I’m all about, playing football and scoring goals, so I hope to score enough goals this season to make up for the time lost last year while I was injured.”
