Cycling coach, Tony Wokocha says he is worried that the sports is not growing in the country as a result of lack of facilities.
Wokocha told www.nigeriasports.com that at the recently concluded 8th All Africa Games held in Abuja it was quite evident that Nigerian Cyclists were mere spectators as their South African counterparts cleared virtually every available medal up for grabs.
"What did you expect when we virtually have nothing to work with?" He said.
Tony Wokocha attributed the dominance of the sport by the South Africans to the absence of modern facilities in Nigeria.
"That velodrome in Abuja is of course the first in Nigeria and a lot of our cyclists saw modern facilities for the first time during the pre Games tour of Europe and of course our best riders defected."
