CAF Awards: FC Indiana players Adjoa Bayor (Ghana) and Vera Okolo (Nigeria) finished second and third correspondingly at African Player of the Year gala held in Abuja, Nigeria last Friday.
Bayor, who won the award in 2003, finished 9 points behind the winner
Perpetua Nkwocha of Nigeria.Okolo, at only 21 years old, has represented Nigeria 62 times scoring 11goals. She was the youngest player ever nominated for the award.
We are very excited with Adjoa and Veraıs recognition as some of the top
players in the world, said FC Indiana coach Shek Borkowski. It is a great
event for our players, for FC Indiana, and also for the Womenıs Premier
Soccer League and womenıs soccer fans in Indiana
