The tennis competition of the Oil Industry Games enters the semifinal stage on Thursday with the men’s defending champion, Kayode Adeyeri of Elf taking on A. Forcados of PTI at the center court of the National Stadium.

Adeyeri on Wednesday crushed Weweh Marshall of Shell in the quarterfinal 6/2 6/0 to cruised into the semi.
The other match is between three time winner of the championship, Mr. Lawal Aderemi of NNPC and Kelvin Idehen of PTI.
Speaking on his chances this year again, Adeyeri who is in form told nigeriasports.com that he would not underestimate any opponent in the bid to defend his title.
He said he had work had and confident that title would be his own again this year adding that the Games afford the opportunity to interact and get away from the stressful environment of work.
“Sometimes we need some leisure time and this Games as provided us the opportunity to easy the tension associated with the work routine,” he explained.
Also speaking on this year’s championship, last year’s runner up in the tennis event, Aderemi, who is now tagged a veteran seems to have conceded the title to Adeyeri whom he said was a much younger opponent.
“Age is on his side and I think he is a better opponent having beaten me twice in two previous occasions,” he explained.
He however thanked the organizers of the Games for providing them the opportunity of giving them the opportunity to interact and exercise which would in turn give them good health.
The final of the tennis event comes up at the Chevron Sports Club, Gbagada on Friday.
