Obasanjo to grace Glo-CAF Awards Ceremonies

President Olusegun Obasanjo will top the list of very important dignitaries expected at the 2005 Glo-CAF Awards ceremony on Thursday at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. The organisers say the President will lead members of the Federal Executive Council and state governors to the event which will also be graced by big wigs of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) led by its president, Issa Hayatou of Cameroon.

Senate President, Ken Nnamani will lead members of the National Assembly which will include the Speaker, Hon. Bello Masari and members of the Sports Committee of the two national legislative chambers.

“The government considers the Glo-CAF Awards as another plus in Nigeria’s image building campaign because this is an international event that will again demonstrate to the whole world that the country is peaceful and safe for investment”, an official of the sports ministry disclosed.

The Glo-CAF Awards ceremony is sponsored by Globacom Limited, the Second National Telecommunication Carrier.

Airport party for Nominees

An elaborate airport party is being put together by Globacom Limited, sponsor of the Glo-CAF Awards for Confederation of African Football (CAF) officials and nominees of the 2005 awards ceremony holding in Abuja on February 16.

An official of the telecommunication firm explained that the reception for the guests is in line with the brand promise of providing excellent service.
He further said that as a Nigerian company, Globacom will always deploy its resources to activities that will add value to efforts of government in nation building.

“We are proud of this nation and will always contribute in anyway to make Nigeria great. The airport ceremonies we are organising is to show-case Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and also make our visitors to feel comfortable. Globacom is a network that is friendly, dependable and efficient and that is the experience of Nigeria we want our guests to have”, said the official.

Cultural dancers are to provide entertainment while pupils and students from selected schools in Abuja will be on hand to meet the stars.

Glo-promo winners to grace ocassion

The draw for the Glo-CAF recharge promotions was held earlier today at the Mike Adenuga Towers, the corporate headquarters of Globacom Limited in Lagos.

The promotion is to reward GloMobile subscribers on the Classic package who recharged their accounts with a minimum of N2000 from January 17 to February 13.

Ten lucky subscribers from the draw will win return tickets to the World Cup in Germany. They will also enjoy an all expenses paid trip to watch the ceremonies of the 2005 Glo-CAF Awards in Abuja on Thursday.

A second draw will be held on February 18 to pick winners of the Glo-CAF Voting Game. This set of winners will be drawn from Nigerians who voted through Short Messaging Service (SMS) for the Player of the Year,

Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and National Team of the Year. Winners will also get return ticket to Germany and other wonderful gifts.
