Nigeria Football Association, NFA Acting SECRETARY GENERAL, Fanny Amun had to practically beg Friday, before the team of Policemen guarding the Glass House office of the football body could allow him entry to fax some documents.
The Abuja head office of the FA was put under lock and key, a day after the NFA Congress and purported elections in which former chairman, Ibrahim Galadima claimed to have won an second tenure. The development since sparked an impasse in football, as leading members of the football community had converged in Abuja instead in respect of holding the same Congress and Elections.
Amun, who wanted to use office facilities to send out documents on Nigeria's African Cup of Nations participation in Egypt, begged and made entreaties, and was only allowed into the building, after applying in writing to the security operatives.
Although reports said the FA office was locked up on the orders of the Sports and Social Development Minister, Saidu Sambawa, Amun ordeal immediately sent out signals that the reverse could have been the case.
Amun said! " well, if the Sports Minister gave the order to seal off the building, then I could not have been refused entry by the Policemen and I would have taken the key to gain entry right from our Ministry. It means untill we leave for Egypt, we may have to apply officially to whoever is incharge before conducting any official business inside the Glass House," he said.
