Col. Bala Congratules NBBF, Tigress

"Please accept my sincere regards and extend my congratulations to the entire Nigerian basketball family. Am glad by the successess of the new NBBF board and the progress of the DTigress in the competition. The problem with us was not in acheiving in the past, but in not trying at all to make an attempt. Am glad at the sense of unity and respect that is in NBBF board now."

"Nigeria is blessed with abundant talents in several fields, especially in female sports which is hardly placed in the front-burner of sports development. The One Deevers Foundation is well ahead in understanding this, however."

"We must ensure that the female league really establishes and flourishes. Our coaches need to be sent abroad for refresher courses and even attachments to WNBA or College teams, for experience and exposure. There are also more players out there, especially the local ones. Its as both sad and paradoxically interesting that some Nigerian players actually came to play on other countries teams. Would this lead us to what is in football with Togo, where a Nigerian coach and some Nigerian players actually made the difference? Should we watch against such in the near future?

"My special congratulations goes to Scott Naji an unassuming acheiver."

"While we already through to the world championship, we must start early and adequate preparations in all sectors, especially the main one - funding."

"Am here in Costa Rica studying (Masters in International Peace Studies, University for Peace), but my heart is in Nigeria at the National Stadium Halls in Abuja that my foundation helped to establish as home of basketball development in Nigeria, with the Women Federation of Nigeria (WFN) International Female Invitational Championship, sponsored by Chief (Mrs) Josephine Anenih , for her interest in building the game with her resources and interest). The WFN tournament will mark its second edition in a surprisingly huge way in October 2006, God willing. My return is by August 2006."
