Siasia recounts Romania embarrassment

Super Eagles Assistant Coach says it was embarrassing for him to be informed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport that he would not be part of the Super Eagles team to the disastrous Rumania friendly last fortnight.

Siasia, speaking on a live Radio program in Abuja, Capital FM, said he was made to return to the country from the United States where he was holidaying only to be informed at the Murtala Mohammed airport that he would not be traveling with the team.

“Off course it was embarrassing because somebody should have told me I was not going to travel with the team and then I would have stayed back in the States with my family or I would not have bordered about going to the airport.”

On his short trip to the United states, Siasia insisted he did not have to take permission before traveling.

“My contract with the NFA stipulates that I can spend time with my family when there is no immediate assignment with the national team and if my family is in the United states, then I have to go there.”
