The maiden NUJ Media Games was today formerly flagged off at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Chief Olabode George, the Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was the special guest of honour at the occasion. He flagged off events.Chief George was supported by Mr Segun Akinwusi, the Osun State Head of service, who represented His Excellency, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Executive Governor of Osun State.
Mrs Funke Fadugba, Chairman of Lagos Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in a welcome address, explained that the Games were meant to create a forum for journalists from different beats, organizations and orientation across the Federation to unite and form a strong bond.
Meanwhile, some soccer matches were concluded today. In the latest results, Radio Nigeria walloped Vanguard Newspapers 5-0, Daar communications defeated Voice of Nigeria 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Both had played a goalless draw at fulltime.
