We are on course- Anyansi

Enyimba’s Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu has told nigeriasports.com that he is not perturbed by pessimism on Enyimba’s chances of qualifying for the next stage of the CAF Champions League.

Anyansi Agwu says Enyimba’s revival which started two weeks ago against Raja in Aba will continue on Sunday as they host Ajax Cape Town of South Africa.

“Can we negotiate the fact that we are going to win? Obviously not so that is what I will say to you that Enyimba will win against Ajax on Sunday.”

Anyansi blamed the poor start of the team to the attitude of Nigerian players to their jobs citing the case of five of their players who absconded without notice.

“It is not as if we can not do without them, but you must consider that we registered thirty players for the competition including three goalkeepers so if five disappear it means we only have twenty two out field players to prosecute the champions’ league and we have not talked about injuries yet.”

Anyansi however assured that Enyimba are not in crisis as their target is a third time win in Africa no matter their internal problems.

“It does not matter if we eventually have just fifteen outfield players to prosecute the league and continent I see us as a side destined to win against all odds and that we will.”
