Barely few days to the crucial week 17 Globacom premier league encounter, between 3SC Shooting stars of Ibadan and the NPA Seasiders of Lagos. Mike Idoko, NPA team manager has revealed a plot by Shooting stars sports club to destabilise his team.
A visibly angry Idoko told Nigeriasports.com Tuesday that desperate Shooting Stars officials have resorted to dirty games, scheming to bribe some of his key players. “Coach Kafaru Alabi and some 3SC officials have been threatening key players of the NPA Seasiders. This is not right and I want the officials of NFL to note Kafaru and officials have been threathening my players fire and brimstone ahead of Saturday’s clash at the Onikan, Stadium, Lagos”
“I am really shocked that Karafu would call our gifted midfielder Gbemi Akinrolabi, threatening him that as they speak, he was with his ‘spiritual fathers’ (Marabous) in Ilorin, saying Akinrolabu will live to regret it, should he feature in the Saturday encounter” screamed Idoko.
Idoko who was a former team manager of Lobi stars also alleged that kafaru had also attempted to bribe him too with a juicy contract as team manager of the shooting stars should he assure a victory for the shooting side.
“On Tuesday I was shocked to get a call from Kafaru Alabi, more shocking was the fact that he assured me of going continental with his club as team manager, if I would encourage our home loss to give him a chance of picking the continental ticket.”
“Yes, you can quote me, Kafaru Alabi called me. And desperate shooting officials have resorted to playing very dirty tricks; they have penetrated our camp threatening my players. I am really surprised this is coming from a man of coach Alabi’s stature, what does he take me for, dangling a manager job before me, ahead of our Saturday’s encounter”? Idoko intoned
As far as I’m concerned, their diabolical and dubious plan has failed. We will defeat them at the Onikan Stadium come Saturday, we humbled them right here 4-0 last season and we will repeat it again. Alabi knows we are a better team hence he is resorting to all thsse dirty tricks. I would like to teach him a lesson come Saturday, that football is played on the pitch, not on the phone or by intimidation.
Idoko who said the NPA Seasiders is also dreaming of a continental ticket, stated that he has a high reputation which he must maintain hence his disclosure to Nigeriasports.com for the world a large to know. He also appealed to the Nigeria Football League to check 3SC dubious moves. Meanwhile, reports reaching nigeriasports.com indicates that the 3SC fans have perfected plans to overwhelm NPA fans by their sheer number, as they plan to storm Onikan in their thousands.
