Despite losing out of the on going CAF Confederation Cup, played on sunday at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium yesterday, The chief coach Rangers International of Enugu,Lawrence Akpokono has expressed confident over the ability of Rangers winning this year’s Globacom League title.
Akpokono told nigeriasports on Monday that despite that they are out of the competition did not mean they would not win their feet back into the next season's CAF competition, following theirperformance so far on the league table. He described their lost to Morocco's FAR Rabat as one of those things in the game of football, saying that it could happen to any other team.
"As far as am concern, football is a game, what happened to us could as well happen to another, I believe it is one of downsides of game, and I accepted it with good faith,"He said. According to him, the management have to face the league properly to enable them maintain their postion so far. But again “I believe this is our league year because if you watch our position on the league table you will find out that we are comfortable and I'm sure we will maintain that," he added.
Akpokono also explained that since the team is out of the CAF Competition that they would focus all their preparation in making sure Rangers picks another continetal ticket next season. "We are out and there is nothing anyone would do about it all we need to do now is to get back to our drawing table and make we win our self back into the next season CAF competition," He said.
"We will battle Iwuanyanwu with all our mind, no distraction, it may not easy but 90minutes count," he said.
