I want to play in that glorious green-white jersey

Many young Nigeria players has been sending us their profiles from all over the world, all raring to future for their fatherland. Our latest revelation is William Priye Obubo, a right winger who plays for a Jonge Kracht fc a division 4 clubside in the Netherlands, though, Williams did not play active clubside football in Nigeria, but he was a member of his school team, The International School Ibadan, University of Ibadan, before living Nigeria in 2002 to join his parents in The Netherlands. Bayelsa state born William Priye Obubo who spoke to nigeriasports.com via email, about his present club and aspirations execepts below.

nigeriasports.com: When did join your present club?

William: I joined the club September 2004.

nigeriasports.com : And what position do you play for your club?

William: I am a natural right-wing attacking midfielder, but my coach prefers me to play right forward in our 4-3-3 lineup hence my assits amount.

nigeriasports.com: How many goals have scored so far your club?

William: I have made about 10 appearences with 1 goal and 4 assits.  My small number of appearences was due  to school assignments that caused me to travel during the  weekends.

nigeriasports.com: As a kid growing in Nigeria, who are mentor or football idol?

William: As a child, Jay-Jay Okocha and Wilson Oruma have been my idols.  Out of the  two, Okocha would be my preferred idol with his skill and his character.  Moreso, as he captains both the Super Eagles and Bolton Wanderers.  In fact  in my school some people call me Jay-Jay.

nigeriasports.com: Your favourite club of all time?

William: My favourite club is Manchester United, but I keep an eye on Bolton for Okocha's sake.

nigeriasports.com: Would you like to  play for Nigeria, if  invited ?

William:  If invited, I would not hesitate to play for Nigeria at anytime God willing.  I love to play in that glorious green jersey.  My only set-back could be my father but if duely convinced, he would assist me through. Playing for Nigeria has been my dream for years now, as I love dearly both country and sport.

nigeriasports.com: Who is  your manager?

William: Actually, I don't have a manager righ now, but I would prefer a Nigeria agent or manager to handle my affairs.
