I was robbed- Timi Timi

Bayelsa state swimmer, Timi Timi Erekposeigha has told nigeriasports.com that poor officiating and inept judges in day one of the Rivers State Governor’s Cup Swimming Championships robbed her of a medal in the fifty meters backstroke event.

Timi Timi accused the judges of being unprofessional in the way they handled her event.

“I am not satisfied with what has happened here so far. The judges are not professionals. They were just picked from the different associations and do not know how to handle events of this magnitude.” Timi Timi fumed.

Timi Timi told nigeriasports.com that it was unfortunate that she prepared hard for the championship hoping to win three gold medals but has already been robbed of one.

“I ran the second heat and placed second but when the list of winners was released I saw something different. I have not made a formal protest because I think I that should be left for my coach to do.”
