O'jez pours more water into NSF's pools

Prospects for better days ahead for Nigerian swimmers to go extra miles with a view to enhancing their performances both locally and internationally emerged last weekend in Warri, Delta State, following the State's proposal to host an annual swimming championship. This was when the Chief Executive of O'jez Entertainment Limited, Lagos Chief Josept Odobeatu indicated his readiness in bankrolling another championship.

In pursuance of its resolve to sustain Delta State's leadership in swimmin in the country, the Government has endorsed the staging of the Governor's Cup Swiming Champonship come June, 2006 in Warri. This has received the approval of the Nigeria Swimming Federation; soon after the Federation's Executive Board meeting in the city of Warri.

In a clear display of "using what we have to get what we need," the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has expressed the readiness of the Delta State Government to give swimming in the State but with particular reference to the country, more splashes that would assist swimmers go the extra miles to earn more honour for the country at intertional competitions.
