Milan to host 2009 Homeless World Cup

The city of Milan, Italy has won the bid to host the 2009 Homeless World Cup, the world-class, annual, World Street Soccer Championship using football to energise people who are homeless and living in poverty to change their own lives. 64 nations, 700 players will be united in the heart of the Italian football capital, Sempione Park, in September 2009.

Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi Thursday hailed the performance of the national team, The Super Eagles in the 1-1 draw with Austria in an international friendly Tuesday, saying the commitment shown by the players would be needed for the long haul of 2010 World Cup/Nations Cup qualifying campaign.
