The technical director of the Zambian National Team, Kalusha Bwalya has paid glowing tribute to Lobi Stars of Makurdi for giving a good account of themselves when they were sent out of the CAF Confederation cup by Zambian side, Green Buffaloes at the weekend. Nigeriasports.com can report.

Kalusha one of the legends of Africa soccer paid the tribute during a reception in honour of the Nigerian
FA cup Champions at the Chrismal Hotel in Lusaka on Saturday after the match.

He said Lobi gave Buffaloes a good run for their money after scaring them with a two goal lead in the opening 30 minutes of the match played at the Independence stadium.

The former Zambia National team captain said Zambia still had a lot to learn from ‘continental Super Powers’ Nigeria in continental soccer.

“Nigeria has played soccer at the highest level and us as Zambia we can only emulate you as our seniors. The relationship that exists between Nigeria and Zambia can only be fostered,” he told Zambian Times.

Speaking earlier at the reception, Zambia Army director of sports Mayaba and Buffaloes chairman Oliver Moonde thanked the Nigerians for the warm reception given to them in Nigeria during the first leg of the encounter.

Mayaba appealed to Lobi Stars not to despair after the defeat saying it was not the end of the road and there was still the Nigerian league to concentrate on.
