Enyimba in dramatic win

Defending champions, Enyimba of Aba defied all odds to beat Petro Athletico 2-1 in Angola to clinch a ticket to the group phase of the Caf champions’ league on a 3-2 aggregate, thanks to a late David Tyakase’s 86 minute goal. Nigeriasports.com can report.

The visitors took an important lead in the 11 minute through Emeka Nwana to the surprise of the huge Petro fans.

But the Angolans battled bravely, and were rewarded when Avelino Lopes netted on 70 minutes to send home supporters into a wild celebration.

That meant the match seemed to be heading for extra time - until Tyakase struck with four minutes left on the clock.

Enyimba go through to the group stage on a 3-2 aggregate.

Congratulations Enyimba, It's good you started with away wins this year. You've been there before and I have no doubt that you can make it again.
