Rangers beat Etoile

Rangers International of Enugu came from behind to beat visiting Etoile Guinea 2-1 in Enugu. Nigeriasports.com can report.

Biabi Abdul Gadi shocked the host in the 14 minute, capitalising on a defensive blunder to put Etoile ahead.

Rangers came back smoking, firing on all cylinders and got a deserved equaliser through Okey Enyiaku in the 65 minute.

As the dreaded penalty shoot out looms at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium, Ugochukwu Okeke scored on the dot of 90 minute.

The victory ensures Rangers go through on 2-1 aggregate win after the first leg ended 0-0 in Conakry.

“This is the toughest game we have played so far in the Confederation cup but thank God we won” Rangers coach, Lawrence Akpokona told Nigeriasports.com

“We hope to work on our shortcomings ahead of our subsequent games” he concluded

Etoile coach, Kabu Namady refuses to comment after the game.
