Uwah sure of Lobi, Enyimba

MAKURDI - Former Nigerian Under-23 coach Godwin Uwah, has expressed optimism on the chances of the two Nigerian teams in the CAF Confederation cup,Lobi FC of Makurdi and Enyimba of Aba qualifying to the next round. Uwah tells nigeriasports.com in Benin City,Edo state that although Lobi had a slim 2-1 win against the Zambians, he was sure they would scale through.

“I still remember what happened in 2000 against Celtic
Athletic of Angola. They drew with us here (in Makurdi) but we defeated them 1-0 at the return leg in Luanda, Angula.I believe Lobi could repeat the feat against the Green Buffaloes on their return trip,"Uwah said.

Speaking on Enyimba's  1-1 home draw, Uwah
maintained that they would also escape the huddle as
they have done in the past.

“I don’t entertain fears on Enyimba because  I believe in
their abilities. I know that they can do well in
the return leg because they have all it take to conquer
the continent again," Uwah, now manager at Bendel Insurance of Benin City said.

He however advised the clubs technical crews to work harder to ensure they achieve their set goals in both games.

Meantime, Bendel Insurance FC have qualified for the finals of
the Edo state Challenge Cup by beating Owuesh 2-0 in
the semi finals played last Wednesday at the Ogbemudia stadium, Benin city.
