Lobi in slim win

A brace from Ladi Gasper (9, 64 minute) was enough to give Lobi a 2-1 victory over Buffaloes of Zambia in the first leg of the Confederation cup game in Makurdi.

Christopher Kantogo got an important goal on the dot of 90 minutes for the visitors to set up an explosive second leg in Zambia.

Lobi players only have themselves to blame as they failed to capitalise on the begging chances.

George Luanda coach of Buffaloes paid glowing tribute to his players after the game.

“We had one clear chance at goal and we took it. The second leg will see the demise of Lobi stars” he told Nigeriasports.com

“Lobi players are skilful but lack the killer instinct in front of goal” he added.

Meanwhile, Belgian Cooreman Maurice of Lobi blamed his players and club management for his team’s performance.

“We had more than chances than any team playing football but blew them all” he told Nigeriasports.com

“I knew nothing about Buffaloes and despite asking for their video tapes, the club management refused to provide any” the Lobi coach concluded.
