Lobi open gates for Buffaloes

The management of Lobi stars football club of Makurdi told Nigeriasports.com that the gates of the Aper Aku stadium will be free to all fans hoping to cheer the team against Buffaloes of Zambia on Sunday.

Sole Administrator of the Club, Dominic Iorfa, says the action is to spur the team to victory against their visitors.

“Buffaloes are a good side, and one of the best supported in Africa. We want to give our boys all the needed support and that is the reason why we will not be collecting money from our supporters. Such gesture and atmosphere would only charge the boys to victory” Iorfa noted

“Playing at the continental level comes once in a year and this year we are not giving room for mediocrity” he added

The former international said there would be a raffle draw at the end of the match, in order to raise more cash on the home front for the team.

“Lobi is a club hoping to finance itself without running to the government for funds. We want to raise funds for the team and only wait on a bit of compliment on the part of the government” he told Nigeriasports.com

“We have made jerseys for the team and other memorabilia. The whole idea is to create awareness amongst our fans so they will always come out in large numbers to supports Lobi whenever they play at home, knowing that they are contributing to the development of their darling side” he stressed

Meanwhile, Lobi stars’ opponents, Green Buffaloes of Zambia are already in Makurdi, venue of the match.
