Urukalo blow for Enyimba

Enyimba will be without Urukalo
Defending champions, Enyimba will be without their Australian coach, Michael Urukalo for this weekend’s Caf Champions league preliminary game against Petro Athletico of Angola.

The Australian coach left Nigeria for Australia Tuesday morning to attend to what he called ‘Family medical emergency’ and will be away for two weeks.

“It’s unfortunate but I will miss this weekend’s champions league game in Aba” he told Nigeriasports.com

According to Urukalo, he hopes Enyimba will understand his situation and make the best out of his absence.

“My heart will be with the team this weekend” says Urukalo.

“I am confident the boys will defeat Petro Athletico” he added.

Meanwhile, Enyimba chairman, Felix Anyansi, says the club will miss Urukalo but the void created by his absence will be filled by his assistant Okechukwu Emodi who will be in charge against the Angolans.

“We have a capable hand in Okechukwu Emodi and he will be in charge for the game” he told Nigeriasports.com

Enyimba are hoping to successfully defend the Champions league title they won last December at the expense of Egyptian side, Ismaili.

“We can do it again. Our side still brims with the same confidence of last year that saw us break a 38-year jinx”

Although relationship between Enyimba and Urukalo has come under question but Anyansi quickly deny any rift.

"We are a happy family in Enyimba with same goal" he concluded
